The Man in the Middle Changes Everything
There’s a truth most people don’t want to admit:
We’re all the same.
Not in our stories. Not in our consequences. But in our condition.
We Just Got Caught Differently
Some people got caught. Some people didn’t.
That’s the only difference.
Because the reality is:
- We’ve all made bad decisions
- We’ve all fallen short
- We’ve all done things we’re not proud of
And if we’re honest…
None of us measure up.
There Are No “Good People”
That might sound harsh—but it’s actually freeing.
Because if being “good” was the requirement… none of us would make it.
Not the preacher.
Not the leader.
Not the man sitting quietly in the back.
Nobody.
That’s Why Jesus Came
If people were good enough on their own…
There would’ve been no reason for the cross.
But the truth is:
Jesus didn’t come for good people. He came for broken people.
He came for:
- The ones who messed up
- The ones who got it wrong
- The ones who feel disqualified
The Man in the Middle
Three crosses.
Two thieves.
One Savior.
Both men were guilty.
Both deserved the punishment.
But only one walked away with a promise.
Two Responses—Same Situation
One thief said:
Save yourself… and us.
He wanted out of the situation.
The other said:
Remember me.
He knew he deserved to be there.
He wasn’t asking for escape. He was asking for mercy.
The Most Powerful Prayer
It wasn’t long.
It wasn’t perfect.
Just:
Remember me.
And in that moment…
Everything changed.
Someone Had to Pay
Here’s the reality:
Every mistake has a cost.
You’ve felt it.
- Lost time
- Broken trust
- Missed opportunities
- Damaged relationships
You paid for it.
But there’s a bigger payment none of us can afford:
Eternity.
Why Jesus Stayed on the Cross
If Jesus would’ve come down…
No one would be saved.
Because someone had to pay.
And He chose to take that payment for you.
Which One Are You?
We’re all the thief.
That’s not the question.
The question is:
Which one are you?
The one demanding proof… or the one asking for mercy?
You’ve Been Invited
Here’s the simplest way to say it:
The man in the middle invited me.
That’s it.
Not because you earned it. Not because you cleaned yourself up.
But because He called you.
You Might Be Alive… But Not Living
Just because you have breath…
Doesn’t mean you’re living.
Real life starts when you find the One who gives it.
And that’s Jesus.
You Don’t Have to Fix Everything First
This is where most people get stuck.
They think:
I’ll come back when I get it together.
But that’s not how this works.
You don’t clean yourself up first.
You come as you are.
You Won’t Be Where You Used to Be
Will everything change overnight?
Maybe not.
But this is the promise:
You may not be where you want to be… but you won’t be where you used to be.
Final Thought
You don’t need a perfect prayer.
You don’t need a perfect life.
You just need a moment.
A moment where you say:
Jesus… remember me.
Because the man in the middle… is still inviting you.
